Vista Unified School District (VUSD) has identified the need to identify and prioritize facilities needs on its school campuses. In response to this need, a Facilities committee has been appointed. The committee representatives for Lake Elementary are:

The purpose of this survey is to gain feedback from Lake families to help VUSD prioritize facilities projects for the next 1-5 years.

Campus overcrowding, which can lead to cancellation of programs and meetings.
Replacing missing/broken blinds
School site fencing to fully enclose Kinder and Library areas
Privacy covering of the fences between Kinder/parking lot and playground/Madison
Working intercoms in all classrooms
Maintenance of playground sand areas

Getting WIFI into all classrooms, offices and meeting rooms
Upgrading wired access to improve classroom system speeds
Replacing/maintaining current technology - including projectors, bulbs, printers and cartridges, cables, desktop computers, scanners

Repair sagging floors in classrooms
Permanent backpack hooks outside all classrooms (to increase useable space in classrooms)
Replace asphalt and repair uneven cement sidewalks/play areas
Addition of a "learning" playground to enhance outdoor learning activities

Installation of clocks which run concurrently with school bell time
Upgrade electrical breakers to avoid power trips
Addition of meeting areas for volunteers and PTA
Repair broken laminate counters and countertops in classrooms and workrooms

Repair and improve outside learning environments e.g. greenhouse area behind first grade classrooms, kinder planter areas
